To give your manuscript the best chance of publication, follow the formatting guidelines for your specific article type. HAJHS accepts the following article types:
Must present original primary research or novel experimental or computational methods, tests, or procedures. For manuscripts reporting clinical trial results, adherence to CONSORT 2010, the Declaration of Helsinki, and WHO clinical trial registry guidelines is required. Authors of randomized controlled trials must include a completed CONSORT checklist. See: www.consort-statement.org
HAJHS publishes detailed protocols for proposed or ongoing prospective clinical research to promote transparency and reproducibility. Protocols must clearly outline the study hypothesis, rationale, methodology, and ethical considerations. We only consider protocols for studies that have not yet finished recruiting participants at the time of submission. For randomized controlled trials, authors must follow SPIRIT guidelines and include a completed SPIRIT checklist. Pilot or feasibility study protocols are not considered.
HAJHS publishes up-to-date narrative reviews of a topic within the journal's scope. Narrative reviews have no formal protocol requirement.
HAJHS welcomes systematic reviews, scoping reviews, meta-analyses, and umbrella reviews that synthesize existing research evidence. Authors must follow relevant PRISMA reporting guidelines, Cochrane, and Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) guidelines. Submitting a completed PRISMA checklist and PRISMA flow diagram is mandatory. Prospective registration in PROSPERO or the Open Science Framework (OSF) is required, and the registration number must be reported on the final line of the abstract.
Short, commissioned pieces providing focused commentary on contemporary topics within the journal's scope. Comments are not mini-reviews. They typically follow one of two formats: a targeted discussion of a significant recent article or trial analyzing its implications and context; or an editorial perspective on a relevant issue. Comments are not submitted spontaneously — please contact the editorial office to discuss.
Must include a comprehensive description of the underlying algorithms, dependencies, installation instructions, and test data. Software must be freely accessible to researchers for non-commercial use. Authors are strongly encouraged to include all software as supplementary files. Source code should be hosted on a recognized repository (e.g., bioinformatics.org or sourceforge.net).
Must describe a novel, useful, and fully accessible database. Authors must provide a direct link, explain the curation process and long-term sustainability plan, and ensure anonymous reviewer access. The database must be freely available for non-commercial research. If significant novel research accompanies a database, it should be submitted as a standard research article or split into two separate submissions.
Formal post-publication commentary including scholarly challenges, clarifications, or replication attempts. Must be concise (not exceeding 1,000 words), may include 1–2 figures or tables, and up to 15 references. The title must reference, not duplicate, the original paper. Submit by email to the editor for initial assessment. Authors of the original paper are invited to provide a formal response; both are independently peer-reviewed.
The Journal of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (JAVS) publishes original research articles, review papers, short communications, and case studies in Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Soil Science, Fisheries, Food Science, Crop Production, Agricultural Economics, and Natural Resource Management.
All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer review conducted by at least two independent experts. Manuscripts are evaluated based on originality, scientific quality, methodology, and relevance to the journal scope. Authors may be requested to revise manuscripts before final editorial decision.
Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts through the online submission system. All submissions are subject to peer review and editorial assessment.
